October Fundraiser a Huge Success

A well versed and diverse group of professionals gathered in support of Peachtree NORML Saturday October 17th at the home of Dr. Uma Dhanabalan. The work Peachtree NORML does in Georgia and beyond to educate others to the benefits of marijuana and the devastating harms of the prohibition of the marijuana plant took center stage. The event brought in citizens of Georgia from all walks of life and from every political party in the State. WE all agree it is time to End Marijuana Prohibition and we are working together to make sure Georgia is the first state in the South, not the last.

The fundraiser sponsored by Magical Butter was a resounding success.  We were honored to have State Senator Curt Thompson sponsor of SR6, (you cantrack the bill here ).  Other distinguished guest included Diane Goldstein of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP); Dr. Uma Dhanabalan- Uplifting Health and Wellness and Diane Fornbacher Editor in Chief of Ladybud Magazine just a few of the ladies classin up the joint.

A good time was had by all.  We discussed the road forward and looked back at our success and failures.  With the dedication of many that came to support our efforts we will sustain the effort to reform Georgia’s draconian marijuana laws.  We understand as we work to end prohibition we must remember those that are in jail or are irreparably harmed by the conviction they must live with.  We had an Empty Chair set for victims of Prohibition 2.0.

We all have a stake in the bills being discussed and we can all have a place at the table if we are only bold and brave enough to take that seat.  Peachree NORML will continue to represent the consumers of marijuana and do our due diligence to make sure no one goes to jail for a plant.

Thank you to everyone that came and we hope to see you at more events.  Your continued support is necessary for our work to continue.

Peachtree NORML gave the first ever Benefactor Award to Paul and Beth Benamy, Benamy International for their dedication and support in ending prohibition.
