I was stopped and some one lied to police and when they pulled me over they said I had to go to southern regional hospital. I told them I refuse to give blood and a urine sample. 5 willie b guys came over and told me I can give it or they will hold me down and strip me down and cath me and take blood. I caved in and gave blood because the guy before me said no and he was younger and stronger. they beat him and had him on the ground and stripped him and took what they needed.I have been trying to find an attorney but no one will take a suit against the police or the hospitial, they lied on the police report, when I asked for the pictures they told me they are lost,so I asked for the video they said it was misplaced, Clayton county has corrupt officers so watch your back,as far as me helping any leo that needs help you can forget it I will drive by and say I didn’t see anything.
“Just Say No!” doesn’t seem like a viable option for People of Color. Especially since brown skinned men and women are routinely asked to prove their legal status and black men and women are just trying NOT to get killed by police officers. White, male privilege might make it a little safer, but it still seems like a recipe for a beat-down for anyone who looks like a … you fill in the blank.
I couldn’t agree more. One is 3.7 times more likely to be arrested for a marijuana charge in Georgia if one is black rather than white. That metric may very well apply to a Drug Whisperer or any other encounter. However, within my lifetime just trying to “sit at the front of the bus” could get a black man or woman arrested, and beaten if they resisted the arrest. Standing up for their rights resulted in fire hoses being trained on them, attack dogs being released on them, and police with billy clubs beating them, not to mention incarceration. They stood firm, though, and kept coming back for more. In doing so, they changed laws. Ultimately, it boils down to what one is willing to risk, and I say again in response to your reply, I couldn’t agree more.
Time for a complete overhaul of our police department, police officers, and our policy’s. Cobb county residents better WTF up or Georgia will become our 1st total fascist state. It’s time to take our country away from the corporate cops, legislators, and lawyers who are stamping out our rights, not crime.
