What NORML Does
Since its founding in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana consumers.
During the 1970s, NORML led the successful efforts to decriminalize minor marijuana offenses in 11 states and significantly lower marijuana penalties in all others.
Today NORML continues to lead the fight to reform state and federal marijuana laws, whether by voter initiative or through the elected legislatures.
A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly.
Learn MoreWe Make
A Diference
Peachtree NORML offers members many opportunities to network with the Georgia cannabis community and to help others. If you are looking for a cannabis legalization organization that is active year-round then you've found us.
Educating Georgia
The primary goal of Peachtree NORML is to provide information and education to Georgia citizens about the failure of an 80 year-old war on the cannabis plant. We do this by providing our opinion and links to information that encourage you to research the facts on your own.
Lobbying Our Leaders
A large part of Peachtree NORML's efforts involve rallying stakeholders and encouraging them to speak directly to their elected leaders and policy makers. The only way to end prohibition is to change the law, so we make sure lawmakers hear from our members.
Defending Patients
The Peachtree NORML Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to raise funds for Georgians that have been wrongfully arrested for the crime of possessing a plant. 100% of the donations made to the Legal Defense Fund are used to pay for the legal expenses of these drug war victims.
Supporting Our Members
Peachtree NORML is VERY active in the marijuana legalization effort in Georgia, and this creates a lot of opportunities for members to meet, fellowship and network. We have multiple chapters who hold monthly meetings as an opportunity to both develop strategy as well as socialize with like-minded people.

I am hepatitis C positive, I also have had grand mal seizures since I was 17, I am now 44. I got put on seizure medication and they got worse. So I took it upon myself and started smoking marijuana and stopped the doctors medications. It has been 5 years and I have not had the first seizure, and my hepatitis is not active now.

"I Got Caught Like So Many Others"
In recent years I have discovered the medical side effects (benefits) of marijuana. My sophomore year I started eating edibles, and smoking just to try it out. I heard it was something that would help my pre-existing medically diagnosed anxiety disorder. I don't like to call it a disorder, but such is life. After combining the use of legally prescribed anti-anxiety medication and smoking around 2-3 times per week, (more...)
"I Need to be Closer to My Family"
I am a medical marijuana patient in the state of California. I suffer from lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme's disease and Sjogren's syndrome. I use cannabis to help deal with my symptoms. I was a resident of Georgia for 10 years. I lived in Smyrna and Douglasville. My entire immediate family live in Georgia, Atlanta Metro. I had to leave Georgia in order to receive safe access to medical marijuana. (more...)
